Week 12 - polishing shmolishing
With a full feature freeze we are now focusing on optimizing the experience we already have. Gameplay elements become more clear, things become prettier, etc.
Dev:
As mentioned, with the freeze we focused on enhancing what we already had. In this way, we've been updating the UI, menu screen and overal gameplay! You may find less meshes looking weird, the belts running more smoothly and some fun added particles (made by our lovely artists).
Art:
During this final polish week we changed some behind the scenes stuff to make our UI clean, revamped the minimap to be a lot more clear and added textures to our beloved money (at last!) We filled the factory with more boxes to add more obsticles but also make it feel less empty. And to keep things consistent in the artstyle, we now made outlines for the belts and other missing mesh outlines. We also improved on the rolls storage space and their meshes.
Audio:
Because the classification of audio samples as features is not really clear. So I took this opportunity to add a couple more sounds to the game to make the experience more enjoyable and the information of what's happening clearer. All of the sounds are all optimized as well now, even though this probably shouldve been done at the start. A tedious task but the small audio file sizes speak for themselves.
